LaneKent Forum Rules - Pertain to all Boards
Special Note
The Clois Serial Fiction, Clois One Shot Fiction, and the Clois Author Archives are password protected. Only members with at least ONE post can PM Kelly (kellydlugo) to receive the password to access those boards.
1.) Drama, flame wars, controversy, irritants and other events that occur on other message boards aren't any concern to the LaneKent community. Singling out, accusatory comments, defaming, or making fun of any member on this site will not be permitted. Please don't discuss them here! An Administrator will modify and/or delete any posts of this nature without notification.
2.) Linking to personal sites or other fan site is not permitted on LaneKent. Placing an advertisement to another fansite via your signature is also NOT allowed. You can add your website to the 'website' field in your profile only. It is acceptable if a discussion in an already created topic warrants the posting of a link to another site, ONLY at this time may a link to another fan site be given. PM'ing members advertising a site is also considered spamming. If the LK staff is made aware of PM advertising you will be warned, if the advertisements continue your account will be deleted. Any and all spamming is grounds for deletion and banning of account.
3.) We do not allow threats or insinuations of violence toward anyone, including the actors and production teams of the shows/movies discussed on these boards. Talking about a character is acceptable but please do NOT bash the actual actors. This site is to share fics, pics, and discuss Smallville, Superman and DC Comics please keep discussions free of personal attacks. Please be respectful, think before you post.
4.) Members on this board are from all over the globe, all posters must refrain from making comments that could ordinarily be construed as sexist, homophobic, ethnocentric, racist, or significantly demeaning any individual or group on the basis of disability, age, political inclinations or religion. What is construed as demeaning or hateful is up to the ultimate discretion of the Administrators. If you have any questions please PM LaneKent.
5.) You may post fanfic challenges/ideas (if you don't like to write but want to see a certain story written), poems, songfics, comments about fanfic, round robins, and almost anything related to fanfic in the Challenge/Suggestion thread in the Fan Fiction Files board, located in the Fan Fiction Files catergory.
6.) NO DOUBLE POSTING on any of the boards. The ONLY exception to this rule is for an author posting their story in one of the Fan Fiction boards. If they are posting numerous chapters, only then is double posting allowed. You will be warned, your double posts will be deleted and your post count will be re-counted to correctly total your posts. Also any post wiht just a smiley face will be deleted. All posts need to have at least one word, as just a smiley face isn't really saying anything and not worthy of a post count.
7.) Any member with zero posts for longer then 30 days will be deleted. LaneKent is viewable to guests, meaning you do not have to be a member to read any of the threads on any of the boards. We would like to keep an ACTUAL account of our members, and currently we deem a 'Member' as an active participant within the site. Also note, that if your account is higher then zero posts, but you have not posted and/or logged onto our site within six months, your account will be deleted. If you ever choose to come back you can simply re-register. And any account NOT activated within 14 days of sign up will be deleted. You may not have gotten the activation email so you will need to sign up again if you choose and activate via that email notification.
8.) Copyright infringement. Links to direct downloads will not be permitted on LaneKent. No links to actual downloads of TV shows, Movies or Music are allowed to be posted on this site. File sharing is prohibited on LaneKent. Please be advised that linking to such sites as AOL or Yahoo or MSN videos is acceptable on a case by case basis. Actual full length episode links from any site will be deleted. Please note, LaneKent nor Proboards wish to be sued.
9.) All Fan Fiction posted on LaneKent MUST be rated in title and must include a header in the first post. Details and instructions are available in each fan fiction board. This information is also located in the thread titled ' LaneKent Board Breakdown'.
10.) Fighting is not permitted on the LaneKent boards. Please move all arguements to PM, do not clog the boards with unnecessary and irritating posts back and forth. Any posts of this nature will be deleted without notification. If you have a problem please PM LaneKent directly.
11.) Snagging Images from other members. All members must give credit to the creator if using someone else's artwork. Do NOT use that member's URL link to host the image for yourself. Sign up for your own hosting service and upload your photos there. Posting artwork as your own, that you did NOT create will result in deletion of thread and banning of posting any future artwork.
12.) Plagairism will NOT be tolerated on LaneKent. Since, in most cases, figuring out who actually wrote a fan fic story or prose will be quite difficult. LaneKent will not deal with arguments or any type of 'he said' 'she said' battles. The 'argued' story will be removed and that member who posted that story or prose will be banned from posting fan fics or prose on LaneKent.
LaneKent reserves the right to add/modify these rules without notification
